S.G. Goodman recently announced (Re) Planting by the Signs, a deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed album Planting by the Signs (Slough Water Records / Thirty Tigers). The collection expands the original record with five additional tracks: a new intro based on Goodman’s live show; a homespun cover of the title track by Senora May and Tyler Childers; Dan Reeder’s whimsical take on “I’m in Love”; Goodman’s excellent cover of “Pepper” by the Butthole Surfers; and an electrifying new interpretation of “Heat Lightning.”

Recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the original album finds the Kentucky-born artist exploring grief, love, and reconciliation through the lens of the ancient Appalachian tradition of planting by the signs. Composed of eleven songs, Planting by the Signs showcases Goodman’s singular voice and her signature blend of vulnerable folk music and punchy rock ‘n roll, layered with chiming guitars, ethereal atmospherics, and her DIY ethos. Goodman explores timeless traditions while offering a powerful reminder of humanity’s enduring connection to nature—and to one another.

Planting By the Signs has continued to garner accolades, appearing on Best-of lists at Rolling Stone, NPR, No Depression, and more. Pitchfork raves, “Goodman’s voice, once climbing into yelps, now sits chesty and grounded, its depth evoking early Lucinda Williams filtered through Cat Power’s Moon Pix.” “Snapping Turtle” was named one of NPR’s Best Songs of 2025. Goodman has had a steady slate of touring on the books for 2026, including a 24-stop run supporting Jesse Welles, as well as stops at Big Ears, Stagecoach, Kerrville Folk Fest, Wilco’s Solid Sound, ShoalsFest, ACL Fest, and more.

A production of Austin PBS, Austin City Limits is the longest-running music series in television history, offering viewers a front-row seat to unforgettable live performances for more than five decades. Recorded live at ACL’s studio home, ACL Live in Austin, Texas, the acclaimed series is a public media institution that continues to present quality live music performances from artists across the musical spectrum.
